Travel Advisory! Violence in Nuevo Laredo Mexico! Highway of Death, DO NOT Travel at this time!

On March 13, 2022 Mexican Authorities arrested Juan Trevino also known as “El Huevo”. Juan Trevino is known to be the current leader of the Northeast Cartel operating out of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Trevino was wanted in the United States and also a United States Citizen. At midnight March 14, 2022, Trevino was deported and handed over to United States authorities. This prompted immediate retaliation and violence which is still currently going on at this time in the city of Nuevo Laredo. US Consulate Employees have been held up inside the consulate for the last 5 days due to the ongoing violence and the United States Consulate has also suffered damage. Since Trevino’s capture there have been over 22 attacks against the military, over 16 road blockades and collateral damage to the United States Consulate in Nuevo Laredo.

Mexican Authorities have sent more that 700 military personnel and four helicopters to secure the area following the attacks and the United States Ports of Entry were even shut down during the height of the fighting.

I am recommending not to travel this route at this time! This route last year was dubbed the Highway of Death! I am releasing this video to warn travelers to stay away from this route at this time just as I did last year in June.
