Retired Life in Mexico NO BULL
Is it true? Are tourist being deported in Mexico? Let’s examine the truth!

Just recently, I was made aware of an Instagram post by a German Citizen, who had been detained in the Cancun Immigration Detention Center for 6 days and deported back to his Country. He shared his experience and was accusing Mexico of being corrupt by giving less days on his FMM to make money. He also shed light on the fact that he is not the only person being detained for long periods of time awaiting deportation. He mentioned Americans and Europeans that were being detained with him that had been in the facility 6 months.

In this video I am going to use his experience to help explain why he was detained and dispel some of the myths still being perpetuated by some individuals on social media claiming that this is all fake news. I am also using this situation as an example of what can happen to you if you overstay your tourist FMM. I also want to use this as an example of what conditions you may encounter if your are detained by immigration weather it be that you overstayed your visa or are detained for a short period of time because you are not carrying your original immigration documents on you.

I will also be providing some tips so that hopefully you can avoid putting yourself in this individuals situation.

Financial requirements to obtain Residency in Mexico going up drastically in 2022?

There has been a lot of talk lately about the financial solvency requirements for residency going up drastically in 2022. This along with people facing immigration issues getting 180 day tourist permits, has left people flooding Mexican consulates to apply for residency. People are facing increased issues getting appointments at Mexican Consulates and some even are booked solid for several months. There is also confusion as to what financial requirements they must meet because they sometimes vary from consulate to consulate.

On another note some popular Mexico Blogs have implied that the financial solvency requirements have gone down from past years due to the adoption of a new formula. Actually, I did a previous video explaining this new formula and how it works. This has caused a lot of confusion. So which one is it? Are they going up or are they going down? It all comes down to my famous answer of “It Depends”. Today, I am going to try to sort through this confusion and answer this question as best I can because truth is that there is no black and white answer. I am also going to try to dispel some misconceptions people may have about the financial solvency requirements here in Mexico.

Mexican Immigration Trends 2022. What you need to know!

was the first YouTube Channel to cover the emerging immigration situation in several videos since it started almost a year ago. I started by covering the current immigration computer upgrades and plans to curb individuals abusing the Mexican Immigration system by overstaying their visa with little to no recourse and gaining back to back 180 day tourist permits. I know that this met a lot of resistance amongst the YouTube and Facebook community, but I felt it was important to bring this relevant information to the Expat community no matter how unpopular it may have seemed at the time.

Now individuals are facing increased issues when trying to obtain tourist permits when arriving at several airports in Mexico. People are consistently posting their experience of not getting the time they requested or 180 days as expected which a normal practice in the past.

So what can we expect to see from Mexican Immigration in this coming year? In today’s videos I am going to try and break down future immigration trends here in Mexico. I am also going to try to give possible explanations of why this is happening and dispel some myths floating around on social media.

Breaking News!!! Official FMM Travel Guide Released by Mexican Immigration on Facebook!

I know that there has been a lot of confusion lately with obtaining a visitors FMM when entering Mexico. Just yesterday INM officially released a travel guide on their Facebook Page outlining the requirements for obtaining a tourist FMM. Although this guide was actually published on the INM website on June 29th 2021, INM just finished publishing it on their official Facebook page.

The guide is in Spanish but In this video, I am going to go over this Official INM guide in detail.

Hopefully this is the beginning of a more consistent policy on the issuances of tourist FMMs.

Immigration Crisis in Mexico Part 2! United States Embassy Advisory Issued! What you need to know!

I recently did a video on the immigration crisis in Mexico which caused some controversy and raised a lot of questions, today I am going to answer some of your questions and dispel some misconception people may have about the Mexican Law,.

First, I will be presenting a very important advisory issued by the United States Embassy in Mexico through their Emergency Alert Information system on their website. So what does this advisory mean? This guidance has been issued reminding United States Citizens concerning their responsibilities and confirms that Mexico is serious in expecting United States Citizens to comply with immigration ID requirements.

This advisory should clarify some of the questions you may have about carrying your original documents with you at all times.

Immigration Crisis in Mexico. What it means for Expats and foreigners living in and visiting Mexico!

I did a previous video about immigration crackdowns and explained why these crackdowns were taking place and what it means for expats and visitors. That was only the start of what has become a full out immigration crisis here in Mexico. I am going to elaborate on this crisis and discuss what this means for foreigner’s here in Mexico. The immigration rules have changed and immigration isn’t budging!

What is going on? Why has immigration become so strict. Why are Americans and Canadians being deported on a daily basis? Why are people only being given 7 days when they run to border for another 180 day FMM or even worse denied entry? Why won’t immigration accept copies of my residency card, passport or FMM anymore?

I hope to answer this question in this video but bottom line, Mexico is experiencing a major immigration crisis that is getting worse by the minute. Unfortunately Expats and tourist are getting caught up in Mexico’s efforts to get the situation under control.

Mexican Immigration Residency financial requirements have gone down! Misconceptions explained!

There has been some confusion lately about the financial requirements for temporary and permanent residency. Several well-known blogs have published articles that the financial requirements for residency have changed and been lowered for 2021. This is partly true but not really. The reason for these articles is because Immigration adopted a new formula for calculating financial requirements. This new formula is called the UMA formula.

This has caused a lot of confusion and misconceptions leading people to believe that they now qualify for residency when in fact they may not. So, what does this mean for those applying for residency? Do I now qualify when I didn’t before? What are the misconceptions?

Well, I’m going to try and answer these questions in this video using temporary residency requirements as an example.

Healthcare in Mexico. Living in Mexico with Medicare. Is it possible?

Today I am going to continue to focus on health care. When I started this series on healthcare in Mexico, I stated that Medicare does not cover healthcare in Mexico. That is true but there are some limited options that do exist for those on Medicare. Actually a viewer reached out to me and made me aware of these options. This viewer has even used one of these options to have surgery here in Mexico. Although limited, they may be a solution for you and I felt it a disservice not to inform my viewers.

Now where doe that leave those Americans that want to move or travel in Mexico and that are on Medicare? Well, as I said earlier Medicare will not cover you in Mexico. Now with that being said you do have some options, although limited, which I will discuss.

Public Healthcare in Mexico part 3 of 3. Public healthcare and options for foreigners explained.

Today is part 3 of a 3 part series on healthcare in Mexico. In this part of the series, I am going to discuss the public healthcare system and options offered by the public healthcare system here in Mexico for foreigners.

Now the big question is what type of public healthcare is available to foreigners living in Mexico and what are the requirements. Before I go into detail on what is available, I must state that these coverages are only available to foreigners that hold either Temporary Residency or Permeant Residency. They are not available to individuals living here on a tourist FMM.

This video will cover what type of public healthcare is available for foreigners living in Mexico and discuss the requirements to qualify as well as the limitations of each.
