Retired Life in Mexico NO BULL
How Mexico saved my life! Healthcare in Mexico Series Part 1. My personal battle with Cancer!

Today is part 1 of a 3 part series on healthcare in Mexico. One of the main things that I see people inquire about is healthcare in Mexico. So in this series, I decided to address this topic. In part 1 of this series, I am going to share my own personal story and experience with the private healthcare system in Mexico.

You see folks I was diagnosed with head and neck cancer around 2 and a half years ago and underwent cancer treatment here as well.

Today I am going to share with you a very personal part of my life and my battle with cancer. Specifically, how Mexico literally saved my life!

Back home to Mexico! How it feels like to be back in the United States. Mexico vs US comparison.

Today I am going to get up close and personal. I am going to do something different and have some fun. I’m going to do a comparison video of Santa Fe, New Mexico vs San Miguel de Allende.

I began to realize why I was so drawn to San Miguel de Allende. Actually, there are a lot of similarities between both places. I even read somewhere in a travel magazine that San Miguel de Allende is considered the Santa Fe of Mexico. Actually, these places are so similar that really the biggest difference is that one is located in Mexico and the other is located in the United States.

While I was reflecting, I thought what better of an idea to compare the two. In reality, I will not be comparing the two, I guess I will be comparing my personal feeling about life in the United States vs my Life in Mexico. What a better way to compare than starting both off on a level playing field. Comparing two similar places in two different countries.

Controversy over my Highway of death video! My response to the big question of, Is Mexico Dangerous?

Today, I am going to continue to take on a very controversial topic. I recently did a video about whether Mexico was dangerous. I also discussed the current violence in Tamaulipas and a stretch of Highway between Nuevo Laredo and Monterrey commonly traveled by Expats now being called the highway of death. Then I went on to address whether it was safe to travel in Mexico. I then offered some commonsense travel tips on traveling in Mexico. Boy did that cause a big stir in the Facebook Community! I even got banned from a Facebook Group due to the controversy it caused! Want to know most ironic thing about this ban? The Facebook Group is called On the Road in Mexico.

What I am going to do is address some of the feedback I received and once again dispel some of the misconceptions people have.

Can you live in Mexico on Social Security? Let’s uncover the truth NO BULL!

Can you live in Mexico on Social Security? The answer to this question is not as simple as it may seem. Today we are going to get down and dirty and discuss the true reality of living in Mexico on Social Security.

I constantly see YouTube videos pop up on the topic of living in Mexico on Social Security. I also see the topic discussed frequently on Expat Facebook Groups. I felt compelled to make this video because most of the information out there only addresses the financial cost of living in Mexico. Information does not address the hurdles you may face living in Mexico on Social Security.

Mexican Immigration Crackdowns. What you need to know? Let’s talk about it!
Recently I posted a video about living in Mexico permently on what I call tourist visa, also known as an FMM. This is what is known in the expat community as the perpetual tourist. Just shortly after my video was posted Mexican Immigration started a major operation to crack down on illegal immigration. There have been reports on the internet of Immigration checks at roadway checkpoints and people being randomly asked for their immigration documents. There have also been reports of Americans being deported for overstaying their tourist FMM. I personally experienced this when I recently took a flight from Cancun to Monterrey. I was randomly selected at the Cancun airport to show my residency card and they scanned it with a phopne app in order to verify it’s authenticity.

Unfortunately this has the expat community worried and confused that somehow this operation is targeting the expat community. Today, in this video I am going to address what is actually happening and hopefully dispel some misconceptions. Also, although I will be covering what is currently going on, my advice will still be valid for the future whether there is an immigration enforcement effort or not in the future.
Mexican FMM tourist permit explained and why I call it a tourist Visa!
Recently I posted a video about living in Mexico permently on what I call tourist visa, also known as an FMM.

Mexico has a form called an FMM, also known as a Forma Migratoria Multiple or Forma Migratoria for short. This form serves multple puposes. One of the puposes it serves is when you enter Mexico as a tourist they use this form to give you permission to enter the country for a set amount of days. In the last video I called this a tourist Visa and went on to say that it was also known as an FMM in Mexico. This confused people because in fact an FMM is not a Visa so to speak but instead a permission form to enter the country as a tourist. There is actually a distinction between a Visa and a Permit and this goes for most Countries.

This video is to explain exactly what a FMM is and clarify why I call it a tourist visa to clear up any confusion it may have caused.
How I retired to Mexico at 52 NO BULL
My wife and I were recently watching a series on Netflix called Money Explained. There was an episode in this series called Retirement explained. After watching this series it was a wake up call for me and I felt compelled to make this video. It was filled with some very interesting facts about retirement that I want to share these with you and share my experience of how I retired early and the reality we all face whether we retire early or retire at a later age.

This is video was not created to give advice rather, it was created to educate individuals of the reality we all face in retirement whether you decide to retire early or at a later age. I also, want to share my personal story on how I was fortunate enough to retire early at the age of 52 but did face some of the issues that I will point out in this video and never realized until I watched this series on Netflix. I also want to share with you why we chose Mexico as an alternative to retirement in the United States and never looked back, but it didn’t come without it’s challenges.
